HOLY CRAP there are so many questions and forms to fill out. I knew the application was long and expected a lot but it is like 2 inches thick! I flipped through it last night and it was just so overwhelming. I know it is worth it and all that yadayada, but I just needed to get that out and whine for a minute.
I think we will definitely need to make a game plan. Do a portion a day or something like that.
And then there is the question on tone. Are we ultra serious because this is a serious matter and we want to come off as mature and understanding, or do we throw some light hearted humor in and risk coming off as flippant?
So many Questions!
I think I over analyze and just need to get some tea, relax. Deep Breaths.

I understand where are must be at, wanting to rush through it all but also making sure you represent yourselves in the right light. Try not to over think it. There are no right or wrong answers!
What you're doing is amazing. There are babies out there that need mommies, and this is the best thing you can be doing for them. Here from ICLW.
I know you were whining a little in this post, but isn't it also very very exciting???? You're about to complete another step on your road to become a mother. =) Hip-hip-hooray!! Tone - I say do what you feel is a reflection of yourself and your DH. When in doubt, always err on the side of caution and choose the "appropriate/formal" tone.

I agree about the appropriate tone expressed in B's comment. You can use humor in person as the case workers and anyone else involved gets to know you. Humor can sometimes come across as silliness and isn't always appreciated. It can also be tricky.
Good luck!!
Hi there,
Yes I am relieved and can't believe we are done! to be honest the anxiety and anticipation was worse than the reality. I think the process was actually fairly easy. Yes, it's a lot of paperwork and it was time consuming but I was expecting it to be so much more intense. One of the things we did was sit down every so often and review the list and give ourselves a "progress report" on each item. That helped me feel not so overwhelmed. We had a couple of personal setbacks first when my husband was laid off his job and then when my father in law died and those delayed us a little bit. Compared to many stories I have heard I think we were very lucky. I think the matching, interviewing and placement are going to be the real challenges now.
Good luck to you in your process! I will be checking in to see how it goes!
Wow...that is a BIG application. I would vote for a more serious tone when filling it out.

Take a deep breath and just take it one page at a time. It will get done. Good luck!
